WP.5 Training of future QA experts

Related assumptions and risks: In order to assure the sustainability of the QA and certification network standards have to be stabilized and internalized by the relevant local actors. Thus, Tunisian experts needs to be trained from the beginning. Therefore, the training program will be developed in a way that can be continued after the duration of the project.

Description of work package: Development of a training program for further QA and certification experts, the European partners will develop training material fitting the respective needs of the Tunisian partners. The training material will be edited and published in English, French and Arab.
The European partners will conduct training sessions, starting with kick-off seminar in Gabès; followed by seminars at the University of Gafsa; the University of Sousse and the University of Kairouan. Individual experts will give lectures about the
implementation of QA and certification centers, the framework, best practice and the skills for quality assurance e.g.:

  • advancement of exchange of knowledge and best practice between the participants
  • consistency of the establishment/upgrading of quality assurance centers / service points
  • political and administrative position of the quality assurance centers in the university structure and on state level
  • creation and developing of quality assurance/certification guidelines
  • internal evaluation of teaching, research and curricula at each faculty
  • evaluation of the university-management and institutional reforms
  • external evaluation in the sense of providing information and documents to a review team
  • assistance to the Rectorate and Senate for the advancement of the university
  • creation of a university development strategy
  • publication of quality assurance/certification reports and statistics

Seminars will be given in all Tunisian partner universities, since all local actors need to be integrated. Because the four courses will subsequently provide the experts with all needful information all will have to be attended necessarily by all participants.
Participants have skills to do QA at the planned agency or at their universities and to train chosen academic representatives at their home universities about good practice of quality assurance.
