WP.3 Strategies of Implementation/Networking

Related assumptions and risks: It is important to secure the support by the political and academic authorities of Tunisia for the implementation of the QA centers and the full recognition of its necessity for HE. Stable financial structure for the establishment and running of the QA agency should be assured. The preparation is an important component which guaranties a smooth running and implementation of the activities.

Description of work package: QA and certification have to follow unified standards in the Tunisian partner Universities, compatible to standards within the EU. Furthermore, the expectations and requirements of the Tunisian ministry of HE have to be met. Thus, a network of communication and continuous exchange of expertise is necessary to avoid locally specialized solutions.

For this WP a workshop in Tunisia is planned to discuss strategies for the best implementation and running of the center and the QA points. Representatives of all partners will participate, furthermore, persons who are to be trained as local QA and certification experts, as well as well known experts for QA and certification from Europe and representatives from the other Maghreb states. Thereby, special consideration will be given to the interests of the Tunisian students. To representatives of each partner universities student’s council will participate in the workshop.

The project coordinator will spend a longer period of time in Tunisia, visiting all the partner universities. In each partner university, he will meet all the relevant actors in the field of engineering and applied languages as well as representatives of the university administration, in order to explain the intentions of the project and clarify all relevant questions, establishing thus a network of center managers and academic staff. Furthermore, there will be meetings with representatives of the ministry and the
chamber of commerce.

Two communication networks will be installed, connecting the persons in charge in Tunisia with the partners in the EU: one for the mangers of centers, who can exchange practice and experiences and one for the academic staff of all partners of the consortium.
